Ground\nwater in approximately 400 square miles of Quaternary-age\nalluvial and terrace aquifer is an important source of water for\nirrigation, industrial, municipal, stock, and domestic supplies.\nThe aquifer consists of clay, silt, sand, and gravel. Sand-sized\nsediments dominate the poorly sorted, fine to coarse,\nunconsolidated quartz grains in the aquifer. The hydraulically\nconnected alluvial and terrace deposits unconformably overlie\nPermian-age formations.
