Drenth", "hasEmail": "mailto:bdrenth@usgs.gov"}, "description": "This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic survey over the Elk Creek region of Nebraska and Kansas. The airborne survey was funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI). The survey was designed by the USGS in collaboration with the Nebraska Conservation and Survey Division and the Kansas Geological Survey, and contracted by the USGS. The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and characterization of mineral resource potential. A total of ca. 95,400 line km of magnetic data were acquired over areas totaling ca. 34,800 km2. Data were collected from a fixed-wing aircraft flown at a nominal terrain clearance of 100 meters (m) above topography along N-S flight lines spaced at 400 m intervals. Tie lines were flown in an E-W direction every 4000 m. Data were collected by Fugro USA Land, Inc. and Xcalibur Multiphysics under contract to the USGS using aircraft with magnetometers mounted in stingers. The survey operated out of airports in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, and Manhattan, Kansas, from November of 2024 to April of 2025. Files that are available in this publication include flight line data for the magnetic survey, and a report describing the survey parameters, field operations, quality control and data reduction procedures. A zip file is provided that contains the contractor's deliverable products that includes Geosoft databases and grids for the magnetic survey and the report describing the survey and data reduction.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P13YD9YF", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.69445e44d4be023b7b923a66.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_69445e44d4be023b7b923a66", "keyword": ["AASG", "Aeromagnetic survey", "Airborne geophysical survey", "Association of State Geologists", "Big Blue River", "Butler County", "Cass County", "Clay County", "Colfax County", "Douglas County", "Earth Mapping Resources Initiative", "EarthMRI", "Economic Geology", "Fremont County", "GGGSC", "Gage County", "Geary County", "Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center", "Geophysics", "Geospatial datasets", "Jackson County", "Jefferson County", "Kansas", "Lancaster County", "Lincoln", "MRP", "Magnetic field (earth)", "Manhattan", "Marshall County", "Merrick County", "Milford Lake", "Mineral Resources", "Mineral Resources Program", "Nance County", "National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program", "Nebraska", "Nemaha County", "Otoe County", "Pawnee County", "Platte County", "Platte River", "Polk County", "Pottawatomie County", "Republic County", "Richardson County", "Riley County", "Saline County", "Saunders County", "Sedimentology", "Seward County", "Structural Geology", "Turtle Creek Lake", "U.S. Geological Survey", "USA", "USGS", "USGS:69445e44d4be023b7b923a66", "United States", "United States of America", "Wabaunsee County", "Washington County", "York County", "geoscientificInformation"], "modified": "2026-05-21T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-97.898157, 38.932525, -95.783563, 41.434122", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Airborne magnetic survey, Elk Creek region, Nebraska and Kansas, 2024-2025"}
