The sampling effort was undertaken as part of a Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) funded project (ER22-3388) to study the exposure effect of PFAS on immunomodulation in American Kestrels. Samples were collected in 2 milliliter cryogenic vials, stored at -80 degrees C, shipped to the USGS PFAS analytical laboratory on ice packs, and frozen at -80 degrees C until analysis. At the USGS PFAS analytical laboratory, samples were prepared with a direct injection method and analyzed with a Thermo Fisher Scientific\u2122 Orbitrap Exploris\u2122 120 high resolution mass spectrometer coupled to a Vanquish Flex liquid chromatograph.
