The \tquadrangle lies within tectonic\nprovinces of the 1.4 Ga Picuris Orogeny, the late Paleozoic\nAncestral Rockies, Late Cretaceous-Paleocene Laramide orogeny,\nOligocene to Miocene, and Pliocene?, volcanism, and Miocene to\nthe present Rio Grande rift extensional tectonics. In the eastern\nhalf of the quadrangle, high-angle, east-dipping, Neogene normal\nfaults displace Proterozoic rocks, and locally Mio-Pliocene?\nvolcanic rocks.  Many quartz veins and hydrothermally altered\nzones are exposed along the eastern flank of the quadrangle,\nindicative of the multiple tectonic episodes the region has\nexperienced. Within the western half of the quadrangle, Meso-\nand Paleoproterozoic igneous and \tmetamorphic rocks of 1.4 Ga\nSt. Kevin Granite and 1.7-1.8 Ga Biotite gneiss and schist,\nrespectively, are uplifted along the generally east-dipping,\nhigh-angle Sawatch fault system. In the northwest portion of the\nquadrangle, strands of the Homestake shear zone have been mapped,\ndated and assigned to the 1.4 Ga Picuris orogeny of northern New\nMexico. 10Be and 26Al cosmogenic nuclide ages of the youngest\nglacial deposits indicate a last glacial maximum age of about\n21\u00e2\u0080\u009322 kilo-annum and complete deglaciation by about 14 kilo-annum,\nsupported by chronologic studies in adjacent drainages. The\nTurquoise Lake impounding lateral and terminal moraine complex\nwas deposited during late Pleistocene glacial maximum ~22-21 ka.\nNo late Pleistocene tectonic activity is apparent within the\nquadrangle.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9ON6QBE", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.5e1c94a8e4b0ecf25c5efd0f.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_5e1c94a8e4b0ecf25c5efd0f", "keyword": ["10Be, 26Al", "10th Mountain Division Hut", "Bald Eagle Mountain", "Bear Lake", "Brady Lake", "Bull Lake age", "Bull Lake glaciation", "Busk Creek", "Camp Hale", "Carlton Tunnel", "Colorado", "Colorado River", "Cretaceous", "Eagle County", "Eagle River", "Eocene", "Galena Lake", "Galena Mountain", "Hagerman Pass", "Hagerman Tunnel", "Holocene", "Homestake Creek", "Homestake Peak", "Homestake Reservoir", "Homestake shear zone", "Isolation Lake", "Lake County", "Lake Esther", "Laramide", "Leadville", "Leadville Mining District", "Leadville Quadrangle", "Lincoln Porphyry", "Longs Gulch", "Mesoproterozoic", "Mill Creek", "Miocene", "Miocene volcanics", "Mount Massive Wilderness", "Mount of the Holy Cross Wilderness", "Oligocene", "Oligocene volcanics", "Paleocene", "Paleoproterozoic", "Paradise Lakes", "Pinedale Glaciation", "Pinedale age", "Pitkin County", "Pleistocene", "Pliocene", "Pliocene volcanics", "Porcupine Gulch", "Proterozoic", "Quaternary", "Rio Grande rift", "San Isabel National Forest", "Sawatch Range", "Sawatch anticlinorium", "Slide Lake", "Sopris Creek", "South Park", "St. Kevin Granite", "St. Kevin Mining District", "Tennessee Creek", "Tennessee Park", "Tennessee Pass", "Tertiary", "Timberline Lake", "Turquoise Lake", "USA", "USGS:5e1c94a8e4b0ecf25c5efd0f", "Uncle Bud\u00e2\u0080\u0099s Cabin", "United States", "Upper Arkansas River", "Upper Arkansas Valley", "White River National Forest", "cosmogenic nuclide", "landslides", "metalamprophyre", "neotectonics", "pre-Bull Lake age", "pre-Bull Lake glaciation", "pseudotachylite", "sakungen"], "modified": "2022-08-29T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-106.50000, 39.250000, -106.37500, 39.375000", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Data release for Geologic Map of the Homestake Reservoir 7.5' quadrangle, Lake, Pitkin, and Eagle Counties, Colorado"}
