Tikku", "hasEmail": "mailto:atikku@usgs.gov"}, "description": "This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic survey over the Adirondack Lowlands in Northwest New York. The airborne survey was funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI). The survey was designed by the USGS in collaboration with the New York State Geological Survey, and contracted by the USGS. The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and characterization of mineral resource potential. A total of ca. 38.500 line km of magnetic data were acquired over areas totaling ca. 8,845 km2. Data were collected from a fixed-wing aircraft flown at a nominal terrain clearance of 100 meters (m) above topography along N-S flight lines spaced at 250 m intervals. Tie lines were flown in an E-W direction every 2500 m. It was not possible to survey the region over Fort Drum due to airspace restrictions, so there is a data gap in that region. Data were collected by Fugro USA Land, Inc. and Xcalibur Multiphysics under contract to the USGS using aircraft with magnetometers mounted in stingers. The survey operated out of airports in Ogdensburg, New York and Ottawa, Ontario (Canada), from October of 2023 to November of 2024. Files that are available in this publication include flight line data for the magnetic survey, and a report describing the survey parameters, field operations, quality control and data reduction procedures. A zip file is provided that contains the contractor's deliverable products that includes Geosoft databases and grids for the magnetic survey and the report describing the survey and data reduction.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P13XDBR6", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.69b85e1ab66b010d85583317.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_69b85e1ab66b010d85583317", "keyword": ["AASG", "Aeromagnetic survey", "Airborne geophysical survey", "Association of American State Geologists", "Carthage", "Deep Creek", "Delta Reservoir", "Earth Mapping Resources Initiative", "EarthMRI", "Economic Geology", "Franklin County", "GGGSC", "Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center", "Geophysics", "Geospatial datasets", "Herkimer County", "Hinkley Reservoir", "Jefferson County", "Lewis County", "MRP", "Magnetic field (earth)", "Mineral Resources", "Mineral Resources Program", "Moose River", "National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program", "New York", "Oneida County", "Saint Lawence County", "Saint Lawrence River", "Sedimentology", "Structural Geology", "U.S. Geological Survey", "USA", "USGS", "USGS:69b85e1ab66b010d85583317", "United States", "United States of America", "Watertown", "geoscientificInformation"], "modified": "2026-07-29T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-76.161989, 43.118414, -74.218482, 44.882788", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Airborne magnetic survey, Northwestern New York, 2023-2024"}
