Hydraulic-head observations, which are the composite of one or more water-level \nmeasurements made at a well, are used to calibrate ground-water flow models. To develop hydraulic-\nhead observations for the DVRFS ground-water flow model, nearly all available water levels for the \nDVRFS region through 2004 were compiled in Ground-Water Site Inventory (GWSI), the ground-water \ncomponent of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Information System (NWIS) database. \nWater levels suitable for developing hydraulic-head observations representative of regional, steady-state \nground-water flow conditions were identified through analyses. The resulting water levels were averaged \nfor each well to produce one hydraulic-head observation value at each of 700 wells. The uncertainty \nof each hydraulic-head observation was statistically quantified from the values of uncertainties associated \nwith well altitude and location, nonsimulated transient stress, and measurement accuracy.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9QYJKHS", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.f5e89ea3-344e-43e4-97a9-999edc1b9cf4.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_f5e89ea3-344e-43e4-97a9-999edc1b9cf4", "keyword": ["Amargosa Desert", "Ash Meadows", "California Valley", "Chicago Valley", "China Ranch", "Clark County", "Clayton Valley", "Coal Valley", "Death Valley", "Death Valley regional ground-water flow system", "Esmeralda County", "Eureka Valley", "Franklin Lake", "Franklin Well", "Garden Valley", "Inyo County", "Kern County", "Las Vegas Valley", "Lincoln County", "MODFLOW-2000", "Mesquite Valley", "Mineral County", "Mono County", "Nevada", "Nevada Test Site", "Nye County", "Oasis Valley", "Owlshead Mountains", "Pahranagat Range", "Pahrump Valley", "Panamint Range", "Penoyer Valley", "Railroad Valley", "Resting Spring", "Saline Valley", "San Bernardino County", "Sarcobatus Flat", "Sheep Range", "Shoshone", "Silurian Valley", "Spring Mountains", "Stewart Valley", "Stone Cabin Valley", "Tecopa", "USGS:f5e89ea3-344e-43e4-97a9-999edc1b9cf4", "Yucca Mountain", "eastern California", "flow model", "ground water", "hydraulic head", "hydraulic-head observation", "hydrogeology", "hydrology", "observation uncertainty", "southern Nevada", "steady state ground-water model", "transient ground-water model", "water level", "water well"], "modified": "2020-11-17T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-117.389566, 35.635253, -115.174867, 37.905350", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Locations, values, and uncertainties of hydraulic-head observations for the steady-state, prepumped period of the transient ground-water flow model, Death Valley regional ground-water flow system, Nevada and California"}
