These fish were collected by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Alpena, MI) using Neuston nets or beach seines as part of routine larval coregonine surveys. Subsamples of fish were transferred to NOAA/GLERL where diet analysis took place. These data were collected to support the evaluation of ontogenetic shifts in age‐0 Lake Whitefish diets and evaluate how feeding ecology and the amount of food eaten varied with prey abundance and composition at sites in Lake Huron during 2014–2018.
