In the ground-water flow model,\nMark F. Becker defined the Rush Springs aquifer to include the\nRush Springs Formation, alluvial and terrace deposits along\nmajor streams, and parts of the Marlow Formations, particularly\nin the eastern part of the aquifer boundary area.\n\t\t\nThe Permian-age Rush Springs Formation consists of highly\ncross-bedded sandstone with some interbedded dolomite and\ngypsum. The Rush Springs Formation is overlain by Quaternary-age\nalluvial and terrace deposits that consist of unconsolidated\nclay, silt, sand, and gravel. The Rush Springs Formation is\nunderlain by the Permian-age Marlow Formation that consists of\ninterbedded sandstones, siltstones, mudstones, gypsum-anhydrite,\nand dolomite beds. The parts of the Marlow Formation that have\nhigh permeability and porosity are where the Marlow Formation is\nincluded as part of the Rush Springs aquifer (Mark F.
