It also serves as a tool to assess oil and gas potential for sedimentary basins in both national and international settings (USGS Geochemistry Database, 2024). The EGDB is a compilation of inorganic and organic analytical data currently being captured in the ERP Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), historic databases, and data compiled from literature and unpublished public domain sources. \nThe EGDB is a relational database comprised of a Samples table and an Analysis table. The Samples table contains information pertaining to the location where the samples were collected and geologic information about the samples. The Analysis table contains records of analysis results from the analyses performed on the samples.  Several predefined queries are included to assist with extracting data. The queries can be modified to fit user defined criteria.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P1WNUHWO", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.68a8a28fd4be026335793f26.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_68a8a28fd4be026335793f26", "keyword": ["Afghanistan", "Arctic Ocean", "Argentina", "Armenia", "Australia", "Austria", "Azerbaijan", "Bangladesh", "Barbados", "Belarus", "Belgium", "Belize", "Bolivia", "Brazil", "Bulgaria", "CERSC", "Canada", "Chile", "China", "Colombia", "Costa Rica", "Croatia", "Cuba", "Czech Republic", "EGDB", "Energy Geochemistry Database", "Estonia", "Ethiopia", "France", "Gabon", "Germany", "Greece", "Hungary", "India", "Indonesia", "Iran", "Iraq", "Ireland", "Israel", "Italy", "Japan", "Jordan", "Malaysia", "Mauritania", "Mexico", "Mongolia", "New Zealand", "Nigeria", "None", "Pakistan", "Peru", "Poland", "Portugal", "Puerto Rico", "Republic of Ireland", "Russia", "Rwanda", "Saudi Arabia", "Scotland", "Serbia", "Slovakia", "South Korea", "Spain", "St. Lucia", "Sweden", "Switzerland", "Tajikistan", "Tanzania", "Thailand", "Trinidad and Tobago", "Turkey", "U.S. Geological Survey", "USGS", "USGS Central Energy Resources Science Center", "USGS Energy Resources Science Center", "USGS:68a8a28fd4be026335793f26", "Ukraine", "United Kingdom", "United States", "Venezuela", "Yugoslavia", "Zimbabwe", "analytical chemistry", "energy resources", "geochemistry", "geochemistry data", "geoscientific Information"], "modified": "2025-12-08T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-179.1833, -77.8167, 179.3300, 88.9405", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Energy Geochemistry Database"}
