Fish were counted, identified to species, and sized along a transect (Menza et al. 2006, Pittman et al. 2013). Biological benthic data was collected along the transect using the line point intercept method wherein cover types were identified on hard, soft, and rubble substrates (CRCP 2022). The purpose of this dataset was to understand changes in St. Croix’s East End Marine Park no-take and adjacent zones since their establishment in 2002. This 2022 data was compared to previously archived data from the Caribbean Reef Ecosystem Monitoring Program (CREM) collected in 2001-2012 (Jeffrey et al. 2019, Pittman et al. 2013). This study was a collaboration with the Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) and NCCOS.
