This child item holds NetCDF files and methodology to make mean-monthly calibration targets (baselines) for the AK domain, as was used in the \u201cbyHRU\u201d calibration. Global Circulation Model (GCM) data from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) were processed into 10 mean-monthly global datasets (Koczot and others, 2025) and stored in NetCDF format (.nc file extension; https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/). Using these datasets, mean-monthly values were computed for each hydrologic response unit (HRU) in the AK domain (Bock and others, 2024). Resulting data are used as calibration targets for the AK NHM-PRMS model application.\nDATA TYPE DESIGNATION:\nData layers are labeled according to type, as shown below:\nID       Data Type\n1. AET     Actual evapotranspiration\n2. GW     Groundwater (really baseflow) component of total runoff.\n3. PET     Potential evapotranspiration\n4. SCA    Snow-cover area (fraction of cell area) from NASA FLDAS.\n5. SM      Soil moisture\n6. SR      Solar radiation\n7. SRO   Surface runoff\n8. SSR   Subsurface runoff.\n9. SWE  Snow-water equivalent\n10. SWI  Soil-water infiltration\nCONTENTS OF THIS CHILD PAGE:\n10 NetCDF Files (1 for each data type).\n1.\tAK_AET_filled.nc\n2.\tAK_GW_filled.nc\n3.\tAK_PET_filled.nc\n4.\tAK_SCA_filled.nc\n5.\tAK_SM_filled.nc\n6.\tAK_SRO_filled.nc\n7.\tAK_SR_filled.nc\n8.\tAK_SSR_filled.nc\n9.\tAK_SWE_filled.nc\n10.\tAK_SWI_filled.nc\n2. 1_monthly_calibration_targets.xml file", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P92VZBEV", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.64a8488fd34e70357a27dd91.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_64a8488fd34e70357a27dd91", "keyword": ["Alaska", "British Columbia Province", "Canada", "IWAA", "National Hydrologic Model", "Precipitation Runoff Modeling System", "USGS:64a8488fd34e70357a27dd91", "Watershed modeling", "Yukon", "Yukon Territory", "geoscientificInformation", "hydrology", "inlandWaters", "model", "streamflow", "streamflow modeling", "water resources"], "modified": "2025-09-30T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-180.0000, 48.6910, -120.9375, 72.6071", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "1_Alaska NHM by-HRU mean-monthly calibration targets derived from Global Circulation Model (GCM) simulations, 1980 \u2013 2022"}
