Samples are settled, and the heaviest (bottom) 15 ml are collected and analyzed under a microscope looking for the larvae. Previous research claimed that veligers present in a water sample would settle at the bottom 15 ml. This study examined whether veligers would still settle in the bottom 15 ml through water samples that are thick with different types of suspended solids like zooplankton and algae. This study found that suspended solids, or organic material, and the amount of that material, in water samples does interfere with settlement of veligers in the heaviest 15 ml.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://data.usbr.gov/catalog/4613/item/11450", "description": "Landing page for \"S&T Project 21083 Final Report: Assessment of Laboratory Methods to Investigate Dreissenid Mussel Veliger Settling in Imhoff Cones Through Dense Organic Material\"", "mediaType": "text/html", "title": "RISE Item Details Page URL for \"S&T Project 21083 Final Report: Assessment of Laboratory Methods to Investigate Dreissenid Mussel Veliger Settling in Imhoff Cones Through Dense Organic Material\""}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "\"S&T Project 21083 Final Report: Assessment of Laboratory Methods to Investigate Dreissenid Mussel Veliger Settling in Imhoff Cones Through Dense Organic Material\" as a PDF file", "downloadURL": "https://data.usbr.gov/rise/content-rise-public/rise/catalog-item/binary/21083%20Quattlebaum%20ST%20Final%20Report%20signed_0.pdf", "mediaType": "application/pdf", "title": "PDF File for \"S&T Project 21083 Final Report: Assessment of Laboratory Methods to Investigate Dreissenid Mussel Veliger Settling in Imhoff Cones Through Dense Organic Material\""}], "identifier": "https://datainventory.usbr.gov/rise/item/11450", "keyword": ["Detection", "Invasive Species", "Quagga/Zebra Mussels"], "landingPage": "https://data.usbr.gov/catalog/4613/item/11450", "modified": "2021-09-29T21:37:40Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "Bureau of Reclamation"}, "spatial": "{\"type\":\"Polygon\",\"coordinates\":[[[-105.12484,39.72238],[-105.1217,39.72366],[-105.1199,39.72123],[-105.12164,39.72052],[-105.12285,39.72213],[-105.12431,39.72153],[-105.12484,39.72238]]]}", "title": "S&T Project 21083 Final Report: Assessment of Laboratory Methods to Investigate Dreissenid Mussel Veliger Settling in Imhoff Cones Through Dense Organic Material"}
