The full dataset comes from CA Department of Fish and\nWildlife\u2019s\u00a0Areas of Conservation Emphasis\u00a0(ACE) project.\u00a0ACE Terrestrial Climate Change Resilience\u00a0incorporates statewide information about lands that have a higher\nprobability of serving as refugia for species adapting to climate change. Based on projections from climate models,\nthis dataset indicates the relative likelihood that an area will experience\nshifts in temperature, precipitation, or other important climate variables that\nwould negatively impact the current array of plants (and by extension animals)\nthat can thrive under those future conditions.

\n\n

Ranks 4 and 5 are\nused as an exclusion in the SB 100 Terrestrial Climate Resilience Study Screen.\nThis allows areas of lower\nclimate resilience rank to be considered for exploration of renewable resource\ntechnical potential, while keeping areas of higher resilience rank for\nconservation planning.
