During week-long site visits in May and September, we monitored the airspace surrounding towers and observed insects, occasional birds, and bats under a variety of environmental and operational conditions.  This dataset enumerates invertebrates captured using both malaise and funnel traps placed on the ground in the immediate vicinity of solar towers in the locations shown in Figure 2 of the associated paper.  The locational information below therefore is associated with the tower area under examination, not the locations of individual traps.\nLocational Information Associated with the Towers from which Recordings were Captured:\nTower 2\nRecording start date: 9/3/2014\nRecording end date: 9/11/2014\nEasting (X location, UTM meters): 638651\nNorthing (Y location, UTM meters): 3935824\nUTM Zone: 11 North\nAltitude above sea level (meters): 925\nTower 3\nRecording start date: 5/15/2014\nRecording end date: 5/21/2014\nEasting (X location, UTM meters): 637472\nNorthing (Y location, UTM meters): 3937887\nUTM Zone: 11 North\nAltitude above sea level (meters): 972\nCoordinate information based on UTM Projection, Zone 11 (Datum: NAD 1983_CORS96, Ellipsoid: GRS_1980)", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "http://dx.doi.org/10.5066/F7GM85DN", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.565c9c4ce4b071e7ea542ed5.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_565c9c4ce4b071e7ea542ed5", "keyword": ["Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System", "Ivanpah Valley", "Mojave Desert", "Monitoring and Evaluation", "Solar Energy", "Solar power towers", "USGS:565c9c4ce4b071e7ea542ed5", "Wildlife and Fisheries", "animal movement", "bats", "birds", "infrared", "insects", "migration", "power generation sites", "solar flux", "solar power", "video monitoring", "videography", "videos", "wildlife"], "modified": "2020-08-20T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-115.470196, 35.534876, -115.451634, 35.556390", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Invertebrate sampling data from the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System (ISEGS) Facility Recorded by the USGS during Spring and Fall 2014"}
