Ground water in 710\nsquare miles of Quaternary-age alluvial and terrace deposits\nalong the North Canadian River is an important source of water\nfor irrigation, industrial, municipal, stock, and domestic\nsupplies. The aquifer, composed of alluvial and terrace\ndeposits, consists of sand, silt, clay, and gravel. The aquifer\nis underlain and in hydraulic connection with the upper zone of\nthe Permian-age Garber-Wellington aquifer and the\nPennsylvanian-age Ada-Vamoosa aquifer.\nSome of the polygon boundaries were digitized from a published\nground-water modeling report about the aquifer and some lines\nwere extracted from published digital geology data sets. The\nconstant hydraulic conductivity value for the aquifer was\nestimated as 310 feet per day in the published ground-water\nmodeling report.\nGround-water flow models are numerical representations that\nsimplify and aggregate natural systems. Models are not unique;\ndifferent combinations of aquifer characteristics may produce\nsimilar results.
