This area encompasses all or part of Cleveland,\nLincoln, Logan, Oklahoma, Payne, and Pottawatomie\nCounties. The Central Oklahoma aquifer includes the alluvial\nand terrace deposits along major streams, the Garber\nSandstone and Wellington Formations, and the Chase, Council\nGrove, and Admire Groups. The Quaternary-age alluvial and\nterrace deposits consist of unconsolidated clay, silt, sand,\nand gravel. The Permian-age Garber Sandstone and Wellington\nFormations consist of sandstone with interbedded siltstone\nand mudstone. The Permian-age Chase, Council Grove, and\nAdmire Groups consist of sandstone, shale, and thin\nlimestone.\nThe Central Oklahoma aquifer underlies about 3,000 square\nmiles of central Oklahoma where the aquifer is used\nextensively for municipal, industrial, commercial, and\ndomestic water supplies. Most of the usable ground water\nwithin the aquifer is from the Garber Sandstone and Wellington\nFormations. Substantial quantities of usable ground water\nalso are present in the Chase, Council Grove, and Admire\nGroups, and in alluvial and terrace deposits associated with\nthe major streams.\nThe water-level elevation map was created from digital data\nsets developed to produce a map for a previously published\nreport. Water-levels measured in wells during the winter of\n1986 and 1987 were used to construct the map. The digital\ndata set contains water-level elevations that range from 850\nto 1,350 feet above sea level or the National Geodetic\nVertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29).", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9FVRJ6K", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.f2bc0308-560d-4445-a7e2-eec273289935.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_f2bc0308-560d-4445-a7e2-eec273289935", "keyword": ["Admire Group", "Central Oklahoma aquifer", "Chase Group", "Council Grove Group", "Garber Sandstone", "USGS:f2bc0308-560d-4445-a7e2-eec273289935", "Wellington Formation", "aquifers", "environment", "geoscientificInformation", "ground water", "ground-water level elevation", "ground-water level elevation contours", "ground-water levels", "ground-water vulnerability", "groundwater", "groundwater level elevation", "groundwater level elevation contours", "groundwater levels", "groundwater vulnerability", "inlandWaters", "water level contours", "water level elevation", "water level elevation contours", "water levels", "water-level contours", "water-level elevation", "water-level elevation contours"], "modified": "2020-11-17T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-97.6624, 34.9183, -96.8013, 35.9971", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Digital data sets that describe aquifer characteristics of the Central Oklahoma aquifer in central Oklahoma"}
