The Enid isolated terrace\naquifer covers approximately 82 square miles and supplies water\nfor irrigation, domestic, municipal, and industrial use for the\nCity of Enid and western Garfield County. The Quaternary-age\nEnid isolated terrace aquifer is composed of terrace deposits\nthat consist of discontinuous layers of clay, sandy clay, sand,\nand gravel. The aquifer is unconfined and is bounded by the\nunderlying Permian-age Hennessey Group on the east and the Cedar\nHills Sandstone Formation of the Permian-age El Reno Group on\nthe west. Cedar Hills Sandstone Formation fills a channel\nbeneath the thickest section of the Enid isolated terrace\naquifer in the midwestern part of the aquifer.\nThe hydraulic conductivity polygons from a ground-water modeling\nthesis and report were transferred to a map and digitized. The\nmap digitized was published at a scale of 1:62,500. Hydraulic\nconductivities reported in the ground-water modeling thesis and\nreport for the Enid isolated terrace aquifer are 93.6 feet per\nday and 134 feet per day.\nGround-water flow models are numerical representations that\nsimplify and aggregate natural systems. Models are not\nunique; different combinations of aquifer characteristics may\nproduce similar results.
