There is a growing field of research that focuses on community-level resilience. Many have developed and studied methods for measuring resilience quantitatively and qualitatively. The Tracking Community Resilience (TraCR) database is a tool for developing and testing analytical methods for computing county-level indicators for community resilience. TraCR can be used by local communities, researchers, and decision makers at various levels to assess and measure longitudinal community resilience. TraCR is part of the Community Resilience Assessment Methodology, which aims to develop a first-generation methodology to assess resilience at the community scale based on community functions, supported by buildings and infrastructure systems, and the recovery of those functions following a disruptive hazard event.", "distribution": [{"description": "This README file is the standard README file that describes the dataset and associated files.", "downloadURL": "https://data.nist.gov/od/ds/mds2-3978/README.txt", "mediaType": "text/plain", "title": "README"}, {"description": "This document gives background information for the development of the database.", "downloadURL": "https://data.nist.gov/od/ds/mds2-3978/TraCR_%20TechnicalSupportDocument.pdf", "mediaType": "application/pdf", "title": "Technical Support Document"}, {"description": "This is a matrix of the data availability for the metrics in a given time period.", "downloadURL": "https://data.nist.gov/od/ds/mds2-3978/TraCR_DataCoverageMatrix.xlsx", "mediaType": "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet", "title": "TraCR Data Coverage Matrix"}, {"description": "This is the database.", "downloadURL": "https://data.nist.gov/od/ds/mds2-3978/TraCR_v1_database.csv", "mediaType": "text/csv", "title": "TraCR database"}, {"description": "This is the metadata documentation outlining the schema and data sources.", "downloadURL": "https://data.nist.gov/od/ds/mds2-3978/TraCR_Metadata.xlsx", "mediaType": "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet", "title": "Metadata"}, {"description": "This is the metadata for the database", "downloadURL": "https://data.nist.gov/od/ds/mds2-3978/TraCR_Metadata.xlsx", "mediaType": "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet", "title": "Metadata Workbook"}], "identifier": "ark:/88434/mds2-3978", "issued": "2025-11-18", "keyword": ["community resilience", "database", "economic system", "indicators", "methodology", "metrics", "physical system", "resilience", "social system", "socio-technical system"], "landingPage": "https://data.nist.gov/od/id/mds2-3978", "language": ["en"], "license": "https://www.nist.gov/open/license", "modified": "2025-09-02 00:00:00", "programCode": ["006:045"], "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "National Institute of Standards and Technology"}, "references": ["https://ascelibrary.org/doi/10.1061/NHREFO.NHENG-2224", "https://ascelibrary.org/doi/full/10.1061/NHREFO.NHENG-1642"], "rights": "Guidelines about data use are available from each original source and provided in the data documentation file.", "spatial": "The TraCR database covers counties across all 50 states and selected territories (Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) of the United States.
