Deployment locations for each buoy were selected in order to achieve the monitoring requirements as described in the VW1 Construction Mitigation and Monitoring Plan. PAM buoys were deployed during the foundation installation season (year 2) on VW1 to conduct real-time acoustic monitoring for marine mammals and implement mitigation, as needed, according to the authorizations from BOEM and NMFS.
