Surface sediment was collected from 61 locations using a small ponar, or 'grab', sampler from the R/V Frontier in depths between about 1 and 17 m around the delta. A handheld global satellite navigation system (GNSS) receiver was used to determine the locations of sediment samples. The grain-size distributions of samples were determined using standard techniques developed by the USGS Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center sediment lab. The grain-size data are provided in a comma-delimited spreadsheet (.csv).", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/F7T151TG", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.5833496ce4b046f05f21f5f6.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_5833496ce4b046f05f21f5f6", "keyword": ["Clallam County", "Elwha River", "GPS (Global Positioning System)", "Global Positioning System (GPS) observations", "Olympic Peninsula", "Strait of Juan de Fuca", "Substrate", "USGS:5833496ce4b046f05f21f5f6", "grain-size analysis", "ocean processes", "oceans", "sediment", "sediment transport", "sedimentation"], "modified": "2021-10-13T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-123.580284, 48.139634, -123.530650, 48.154268", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Surface-sediment grain-size distributions of the Elwha River delta, Washington, January 2015"}
