SPARROW is a hybrid empirical/process-based mass balance model that can be used to estimate the major sources and environmental factors that affect the long-term supply, transport, and fate of contaminants in streams. The spatially explicit model structure is defined by a river reach network coupled with contributing catchments. The model is calibrated by statistically relating watershed sources and transport-related properties to monitoring-based water-quality load estimates. This USGS data release includes input and output files associated with 2012 SPARROW simulations of streamflow, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and suspended-sediment load in streams of the Southeast region. Model construction, calibration and results are described in Hoos and Roland (2019, https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20195135).", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9A682GW", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.5d6e70e5e4b0c4f70cf635a1.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_5d6e70e5e4b0c4f70cf635a1", "keyword": ["Alabama", "Florida", "Georgia", "Mississippi", "North Carolina", "Nutrient Loads", "SPAtially Referenced Regression On Watershed attributes (SPARROW)", "South Carolina", "Spatial analysis", "Statistical analysis", "Streamflow", "Surface-water quality", "Suspended-sediment loads", "Tennessee", "USGS:5d6e70e5e4b0c4f70cf635a1", "Virginia"], "modified": "2020-08-21T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-89.9100, 24.4300, -75.3500, 37.6100", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "SPARROW model inputs and simulated streamflow, nutrient and suspended-sediment loads in streams of the Southeastern United States, 2012 Base Year"}
