These effects can be vast and our understanding of the consequences is incomplete. Thus, the dynamic relationships among plants, animals, soil, and water established over long periods are at risk of being degraded in a brief period.\n\nPrevention of plant invasions is the most effective approach to managing invasive species. When this fails, early detection of new species and populations is the best approach for monitoring this vital sign. This information can be quickly relayed to park managers for assessment and rapid treatment.\n\nSince 2009, we have monitored exotic plants in all six parks in the Klamath Network.\n\nObjectives are to:\nDetect\u00a0populations of selected invasive plants by sampling along roads, trails, and power line corridors, where introduction is most likely.\nProvide the information to park management on a timely basis to allow effective management responses.\nDevelop and maintain a list of priority invasive plant species with greatest potential for spread and impact to park resources for monitoring in each park\nAdapt spatial sampling as knowledge improves through monitoring.\nUse monitoring data collected from this protocol and the vegetation protocol to estimate possible trends and develop and refine models of invasive species habitat requirements and of the most susceptible habitats (both along roads and trails as well as elsewhere).\n\nWe measure:\nPresence/absence\nAbundance\nHabitat", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "EML Metadata", "downloadURL": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/DownloadFile/708350?Reference=2305844", "format": "xml", "mediaType": "application/xml", "title": "KLMN_ISED_Monitoring_metadata.xml"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "This table contains information about sampling events", "downloadURL": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/DownloadFile/708349?Reference=2305844", "format": "csv", "mediaType": "text/csv", "title": "Events.csv"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "This table contains the general information about the infestations and random plots surveyed along each segment.", "downloadURL": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/DownloadFile/708351?Reference=2305844", "format": "csv", "mediaType": "text/csv", "title": "Locations.csv"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "This table contains the general information about the road and trail segments", "downloadURL": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/DownloadFile/708354?Reference=2305844", "format": "csv", "mediaType": "text/csv", "title": "Sites.csv"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "This table contains the macrohabitat information about the infestations and random plots surveyed along each segment.", "downloadURL": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/DownloadFile/708352?Reference=2305844", "format": "csv", "mediaType": "text/csv", "title": "Macrohabitat.csv"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "This table contains the microhabitat information (e.g., vegetation percent cover) about the infestations and random plots surveyed along each segment.", "downloadURL": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/DownloadFile/708353?Reference=2305844", "format": "csv", "mediaType": "text/csv", "title": "Microhabitat.csv"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/NPS_DataStore_2305844", "issued": "2024-09-05T00:00:00Z", "keyword": ["ecological data", "ecological monitoring", "invasive plants", "long-term monitoring", "national parks"], "landingPage": "https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/Reference/Profile/2305844", "modified": "2024-09-05T00:00:00Z", "programCode": ["010:118", "010:119"], "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "National Park Service"}, "spatial": "-124.1591,0,0,43.0889", "temporal": "2009-05-04/2021-08-19", "theme": ["Data Package"], "title": "Klamath Invasive Plant Monitoring Data Package 2009-2021"}
