These data provide the basis for national\r\nestimates of nonfatal firearm-related injuries and nonfatal BB/pellet\r\ngun-related injuries treated in hospital emergency departments in the\r\nUnited States.  Beginning in July 2000, NCIPC, in collaboration with\r\nCPSC, expanded NEISS to collect data on all types and causes of\r\ninjuries treated in a representative sample of hospitals.
