Therefore, during\n\t\t\t\tNO inhalation a constant inspired concentration and accurate measurement of NO\n\t\t\t\tand NO2 concentrations are essential. The objective of this study\n\t\t\t\twas to test the NO concentrations at various positions along the inspiratory\n\t\t\t\tlimb of the breathing circuit using a recently developed system to administer\n\t\t\t\tNO in phase with inspiratory flow during mechanical ventilation (Servo 300\n\t\t\t\tNO-A, Siemens, Sweden). Furthermore, we tested whether an active heating system\n\t\t\t\twould interfere with inspired NO concentrations.\n        \n        \n          Results:\n          A sharp decline in the NO concentration was found between the\n\t\t\t\trespirator's inspiratory outlet and more distal points along the inspiratory\n\t\t\t\tlimb of the circuit.
