The Y-LSI is an\r\ninstrument for classifying juvenile offender risk of recidivism and\r\nfor identifying areas of treatment need that, if addressed, will\r\nresult in a reduced risk of recidivism. Three juvenile correction\r\nagencies in Ohio that used the Y-LSI for case classification were the\r\nsettings for this study. Data in Part 1 were collected on 1,679 youths\r\nreceived in the three correctional settings between July 1, 1998, and\r\nJune 30, 1999. Youths' files were reviewed to complete the data\r\ncollection instruments. These files contained demographic and\r\nbackground information, Y-LSI assessments, and information relating to\r\ntreatment and service referrals, completion of programming, and\r\nsupervision outcome. One year after the initial Y-LSI assessments,\r\nreassessment data were collected on youths. Reassessments were\r\ncompleted on youth at the time of program completion or one year after\r\nthe initial assessment. Supervision outcome data were collected two\r\nyears after the initial data collection. Data in Part 2 were collected\r\nin 2001 through a survey of 196 agency staff members on their\r\nreactions to the use of the Y-LSI as a classification instrument.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR03965.v1", "title": "Case Classification for Juvenile Corrections:  Evaluation of the Youth Level of Service Inventory in Ohio, 1998-2001"}], "identifier": "3362", "issued": "2004-10-18T00:00:00", "keyword": ["case management", "juvenile offenders", "juvenile recidivists", "recidivism prediction", "risk assessment", "treatment"], "language": ["eng"], "license": "http://www.usa.gov/publicdomain/label/1.0/", "modified": "2006-03-30T00:00:00", "programCode": ["011:060"], "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "National Institute of Justice", "subOrganizationOf": {"acronym": "OJP", "id": 22, "name": "Office of Justice Programs", "parentOrganization": {"acronym": "DOJ", "id": 10, "name": "Department of Justice"}, "parentOrganizationID": 10}}, "rights": "These data are restricted due to the increased risk of violation of confidentiality of respondent and subject data.", "title": "Case Classification for Juvenile Corrections:  Evaluation of the Youth Level of Service Inventory in Ohio, 1998-2001"}
