WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from MULTIPLE SHIPS in the World-Wide Distribution from 1988-01-01 to 1991-11-05 (NCEI Accession 9100226)

Metadata Updated: November 1, 2023

U.S. Naval radio message bathythermograph data submitted to NODC as part of the declassification process at the Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center (FNOC). Data were recorded in MOODS (Master Oceanographic Observation Data Set) format and submitted to NODC on a 9-track, 6250 BPI magnetic tape. The records and blocks are variable length. Documentation includes printouts of the data summary totals and dumps of the first and last data blocks. Arthur D. Stroud of Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center, Monterey, CA submitted one tape containing MOODS declassified processed data from January 1, 1988 to November 5, 1991.
