Method for Determining Vaporization Parameters

An accurate method of measuring vaporization coefficients will be very useful to each of these disciplines: Cosmochemistry,Evaporative Vapor Deposition, Durability of Ceramics at High Temperatures, Fundamental Vaporization Studies and Theoretical Models. Refining and further developing this measurement approach will be of interest in each area and should lead to further funding, particularly in the cosmochemistry area where vaporization coefficients may explain phenomena dealing with elementary vaporization and condensation/accretion processes. The project plans to demonstrate new method for measurement of VC and measure VC for complex oxides of interest to cosmochemistry and as structural materials.
