    The purpose of this primarily qualitative research activity was to assess the referral compliance among caretakers of sick young infants, the barriers and facilitators to compliance, and the care received after referral for possible severe bacterial infection (PSBI), also referred to as very severe disease, or VSD in Tigray, Amhara, Oromia and SNNPR regions, Ethiopia. Module 2 from this dataset was a quantitative survey with the caretakers of sick young infants referred for PSBI/VSD. Questions were asked about the date of visit; diagnosis /classification; treatment given and completion; onward referral; and outcome. Module 2 complements qualitative data that were collected to answer many of the key research questions.
