Killer Whale Genetic Data (Genetic marker development and applications for southern resident killer whales)

We are developing single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers for use in various killer whale molecular ecology studies. Applications include parentage analysis, current and historical population size estimation, and measuring rates of gene flow. Methods include high throughput sequencing (10M+ bp) and SNP marker development. Microsatellite, SNP, and mtDNA sequence data from southern resident killer whales
