    This dataset includes gulf offshore weather observation network (gowon) data from FIXED PLATFORM OF UNITED STATES in the Gulf of Mexico from 1982-09-01 to 1982-12-01.

    Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Gulf Offshore Weather Observation Network (GOWON) (F192) format.

    The F192 format has been generated to accept oil company meteorological and oceanographic data. Parameters include barometric pressure, air temperature, wind direction, wind speed, wind gust, significant wave height, maximum wave height, and wave period.
