    Geology and mineral resources of Iditarod mining district, Iditarod B-4 and eastern B-5 quadrangles, southwestern Alaska

    Geology and mineral resources of Iditarod mining district, Iditarod B-4 and eastern B-5 quadrangles, southwestern Alaska, Professional Report 97, provides 1:63,360-scale geologic mapping of parts of Iditarod and Innoko mining districts in Kuskokwim Mountains uplands. Researchers identified eighteen mappable rock units ranging in age from Mississippian(?) to early Tertiary are exposed in the study area. All rock units were also studied in the laboratory using standard thin section (transmitted light) petrographic techniques, fossil identifications, multi-element and major oxide geochemical analyses, microprobe analyses of mainly ores, and 40K-40Ar radiometric dating of igneous rocks. The publication also includes detailed geologic, structural, stratigraphic, and geochronologic data. This work was part of a series of reports on the geology, geochemistry, and mineral resources of the Iditarod quadrangle, Alaska.
