Full resolution physical trajectory profile data from glider gp_365 deployed by OOI Coastal & Global Scale Nodes (OOI CGSN) in the The Gulf of Alaska from 2013-07-19 to 2013-10-24 (NCEI Accession 0259435)

The Global component of the OOI includes arrays at critical, yet under-sampled, high-latitude locations such as within the Gulf of Alaska in the Northeast Pacific. The Global Station Papa Array includes two types of gliders that provide simultaneous spatial and temporal sampling capabilities. Open-Ocean Gliders follow track lines around the triangular mooring array and are equipped with acoustic modems to relay data from the Flanking Moorings to shore via satellite telemetry. Profiling Gliders sample the upper water column near the Apex Profiler Mooring.

The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System's National Glider Data Assembly Center (IOOS NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation. Data files may be either low resolution real-time or full resolution. Full resolution files are designated as "delayed" in the netCDF file name.
