Desert Game Range (now known as DNWR) quarterly narrative report. It lists the personnel, both regular and temporary. It covers general conditions, such as weather, water, and fires, and range conditions. Under wildlife, it covers: Migratory birds (population and behavior including a list of birds spotted, how many, and date observed); Upland game birds (population and behavior); Big game animals (population, behavior, disease), including Big Horn Sheep, mule deer, elk, and antelope; Fur animals and predators; and predaceous birds. It discusses Refuge development and maintenance at Corn Creek and Cold Creek, as well as economic uses of the Refuge. Public relations covers visitors, events the Refuge participated in, hunting, fishing, and any violations.There are six pictures. Reports on migratory birds, upland game birds, big game, disease, fish, plantings, cultivated crops, collections and receipts of planting stock, haying and grazing, timber removal, and refuge grain are attached. A table comparing current and previous year climate conditions, a census of migratory birds on Pahranagat Lake, a chart showing the 1950 Legal Waterfowl Shooting Hours for Clark, Southern Nye and Lincoln Counties, a discussion of mountain lions on the Range, results of the fourth annual refuge deer hunt, and a note about plane crashes on the Refuge are all included in the narrative.
