The DDOT Urban Forestry Administration keeps the District of Columbia's street tree canopy healthy, safe, and growing. Street trees require significant attention and upkeep to ensure they maximize their environmental, social, and economic value while minimizing risk to property and life.Urban Forestry prunes the District's public trees to maintain overall health, form, and safety. Urban Forestry also prunes to give clearance over sidewalks and roadways, over homes and buildings, around street lights, and to clear views of traffic control devices.
