The coating projector (1) consists of a rotary atomizer driven by pneumatic turbine (5) connected to a pressurized gas feed duct (11) and fitted with an exhaust duct (12) having at least two walls. The duct has an inner sleeve (13) of a material with low thermal and electrical conductivity set with a gap between it and the inner surface of an outer wall (2). The gap contains a circulating gas at a pressure and temperature above that of the exhaust gas.
