Chemical Fracture Detection During Triaxial Deformation Tests

Published by Sandia National Laboratories | Department of Energy | Catalog Last Checked: August 03, 2026 at 01:04 AM | Dataset Last Updated: June 30, 2026 at 06:00 AM
A set of triaxial tests with sandstone, limestone, and granite samples was conducted to measure fluid chemistry before, during, and after rock fracture. The dataset here includes: 1) five triaxial test data files (xlxs), 2) one file containing the measured test tube volumes for the granite test CFD-GR1; 3) five ionic concentration measurements tables, one for each triaxial test (xlsx), and 4) the CT images of each scanned sample (voxel size 0.03568 mm). The data include mechanical test measurements, dissolved ion concentrations from collected fluid samples, fluid sample volumes, enhanced dissolution calculations, and fracture trace points used for fracture surface area calculations.
